RODLAND
EUROPE'S MOST RARE NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM CARTRIDGE
Here we have a true gem of Nintendo collecting, Rodland, only released in a few European countries. Rodland was released in Europe in 1993 by Sales Curve Ltd., who also brought us Eliminator Boat Duel. I first heard about the game in the December 1992 issue of the UK magazine, Nintendo Magazine System (Issue #3), which featured a small review of the game, but no release date was known.

I didn't pay much attention to it back then, other than it was a Nintendo Entertainment System game. I did try to find the game over the years, but it was no where to be found, which made me think that it migt've gone unreleased eventhough it was reviewed.

At that time, paying over US$100 for a NES game was a lot, I think my extra Rodland went for US$120, but it could easily have gone for US$500 today. Rodland was released in Japan by Jaleco, and the European release by Sales Curve has sofar been found in Spain, Holland and Italy, I'm guessing they were the only countries ever to receive the game.

Sales Curve probably had a minimum order of Rodlands made, and eventhough a loose copy does turn up on ebay every now and then, the game is quite rare and a "must have" for the serious collector, but it won't come cheap! Good luck...
