THE STORY Welcome to the crime infested boroughs of New York, where one wrong look at the right person can be your last. But the turtles sleep contentedly, for they've made Manhattan a safer place for all. Especially since they've sent Shredder to the local landfill. Or so they think. While dreams of pepperoni pizzas dance through their heads, the turtles' worst nightmares blast into Earth's atmosphere. Two intergalactic bounty hunters have been attracted by the price that Shredder has placed on the half shell heroes' heads. Shredder's alive and looking for payback! Although the turtles tossed Shredder into the metal jaws of a garbage truck, titanium battle helmet protected his maniacal mind from being mauled. Upon awakening on a seabound garbage ship, Shredder vowed vengeance. After floating back to land on a pile of non-biodegradable Styrofoam Cups, Shredder began training a new breed of Foot Soldier. One that is better trained in the lethal art of Taekwondo. And one that will make the ultimate sacrifice to defend leader. But that was only the beginning. Shredder journeyed throughout the universe, via his Translocation Matrix Beam, recruiting the top bounty hunters. He chose two. Tora is a ten foot, half ton blizzard beast who, in 2000 years, has never known defeat. Journeying from the distant ice planet of Traglodoon he has come to Earth needing only one weapon, his devastating claws. His partner in cosmic crime is Shogun, an inhabitant of Sector Six in the Dead Star Zone, and the mastermind behind the Ultimate Galactic Sword. But that's not all, Folks. Shredder and his professional punishers have again captured April O'Neil and plan to use her as turtle bait. Fail to save this lovely journalist, and that's all she wrote! Shredder's ten levels of terror, with a lethal leader at the end of each one, are the deadliest the turtles have ever had to face. Even if you survive the eight action riddled arcade arenas, you still must contend with the two new unbeatable bounty hunter stages. But the turtles stand ready to fight through this shell squashing mess. For Splinter has taught these turtles to fight with the ferocity of a lion. ___________________________________________________________________________ 4. Shredder Ruler of Scene 7, You'll face off against this old foe in the ominous Technodrome. Rocksteady and Bebop Shredder's right and left hand men, er, mutants of Scenes 1 and 2 (respectively). They prove that beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes all the way to the bone. ____________________________________________________________________________ 5a. Strategies Scene 1 Here you must avoid the Foot clan. Move to the bottom of the screen and jump to avoid the giant balls that roll down the stairs. If you've seen the first cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode you'll recognize the enemies that await before you enter the apartment. They are these cool little droids that shoot lasers and have electric whips. Rocksteady is not a very hard enemy. Just time attacks correctly to beat him, and for goodness sakes use jump kicks. Scene 2, Part 1 Watch out for the manhole covers that the Foot throw at you. You can effect the pole and the hydrant. Use this to knock down multiple Foot. There is a (full life recharge) pizza in this stage. Beware of the Foot that throw boomerangs. If you hit one while he is throwing it he won't catch it and it may hit you. Bebop is not very tough. Just avoid his charge and don't fall in the manhole or you will lose part of your life. Scene 2, Part 2 You are fully recharged from your battle. Jump kick the mallet carrying foot, or better yet use your special attack. If a mouser clings to you just hit the attack button really fast (helps if you have a turbo controller), they fall off and blow up. The spikes coming down from the ceiling can't be run through. Just go in the water, but jump the missile. Baxter is a wimp in both stages. Just hit him and he will eventually die. Touching him won't hurt you, his only defense is the mousers he throws. If you have a turbo controller you'll trash him easy. Scene 3, Part 1 Welcome to a winter wonderland. The bumps in the snow are manholes. There is also a Zamboni machine that comes at you from right to left. Stay at the top of the screen, the ice balls, Zamboni, and some Foot attack mostly at the bottom (The Foot start out here and then chase you, and ice balls will only *MOSTLY* miss you if you stay at the top.) Tora is tough, he's not like the others you could just get on top of and smash. He takes off one life bar every time you get hit (ice or claws), and this can add up fast. Use jump kicks. Attack, wait for him to call the ice, dodge it, then hit him again. I've gotten it down well enough that I don't lose a single bar against him anymore. It's not too hard either. 8) Scene 3, Part 2 No rest for you. You destroyed the weather changer, and now you fight in a parking garage. The 20mph signs can be hit to hurt the Foot, and so can the barrels (they explode). Watch out for the 2 cars that try to run you down (mid to late in level). Walk to the bottom of the screen and walk in front of them (a little, you'll have to experiment to find out exactly where) they jump back and take on the Foot. Baxter is still a wimp, in fact I've never (as of this writing) lost a life to him. Just jump up and down move up and down on the screen. Attack then run and dodge. Then attack again. There is a pizza there too. Authors Note: April is struggling in the back ground. She looks pretty good for an 8-bit rendering. Also, The scene after you get in the Turtle Van is suggested viewing material! Scene 4, Part 1 Prepare to meet just about the entire Foot Clan. The foot soldiers with the spears are the most dangerous (you can't deflect the spear by hitting it). The purples can still grab you and drain you life so don't let them grab you (The simple purple Foot Soldier can grab and drain you all through the game!). Stay toward the top of the screen as there are cars. After the Foot with bombs (there is a tire on the top of the screen, go to the right of it) go to the top to avoid the motorcycles. At the end don't get hit by the initial 2 tire thrown at you, or the last one either. There is no boss. Scene 4, Part 2 This is about the shortest easiest level of the game. You are recharged, so you fight it with a full life bar. You are on a Cheap Skate (rocket powered skateboard). It's controls are just like walking and you can't fall off, treat it like a normal stage. There are two helicopter to beat. Just jump at them from the left (to right) then back. They attack one at a time. Then trash the machine gun Foot and the Boomerang Foot. Then it's just two more Helicopter and you're done. Scene 5 Welcome to the factory. They've been expecting you. Shredder's security is in place and it's strong enough to repel an army (but not a turtle). Mousers and Foot goons are the main enemies in the factory. You can use the platform to your advantage when fighting the spear-throwing Foot. Try to use the special attack to defeat the droids that fall, if you hit them correctly in the order they fell, you can kill them almost before they get up. There are 8 mini-chopper things that fly at you, midway into the level. Just jump kick a lot to beat them. Watch out for the 2 mounted guns that shoot at you. Get between them and hit each one 'til it's dead. General Trags' second in command has Splinter and he's not going to let you get him without a fight. Jump kick a lot. Keep him off balance. Scene 6 You've rescued Splinter, now continue to chase down the Shredder. This ninja training area is deadly. You can hit some candles for weapons. Not all the foot will appear off the side of the screen (some places include the doors in the back, behind a wall, and through the floor). Oh, you can fall into the holes just like a manhole, but you can use them to your advantage. There is a pizza just before Shogun, you may want to keep it until he has hurt you really bad. He appears in thin air. Jump kick him and avoid his weapon. Eventually he separates, now is the tricky part. His head is invincible and it also takes off one bar of life each hit (same as the weapon). With his head and body after you he is hard to jump at you have to time it perfectly. If you can time it right he takes relatively few hits before exploding. Scene 7 Now it's on to the Technodrome (What do the Turtles mean: "Time to find the Technodrome."?). There are guns very similar to the ones in the factory. There are also some freeze weapons and laser bars. On the elevator stay at the top, jump, wait for the balls to work their way back up, jump, and exit the elevator platform for your pizza recharge. The last few squads of Foot are attacking in a last ditch attempt to protect Shredder. If you can beat them you'll see a red door in a dead end. When you get close it blows open. I'd stay at the top if I were you so you don't get hit. Trag is difficult, he pauses to reload his rocket launcher so timing attacks is difficult. Beat him and he's rubble. Oh and by the way if you get cute and try to go through the doors before defeating Trag, there is a force field that will fry you like a bug zapper. Thankfully Krang and Shredder are another level (i.e. If you continue you go back to them not the beginning of level 7, but the stage skip doesn't take you to it.) This makes it easier for you. First Krang attacks in his robot body, then Shredder. Krang- Once he leaves the portal you can start to attack. Wait until he fires his eye beam (It slows him down.), jump kick him, Special attack him, run, and repeat. He can hit you with missiles and fists. Shredder- Once he leaves the portal he separates into 2 Shredders. BOTH OF THEM CAN SHOOT THE "ONE HIT AND YOU'RE A LITTLE TURTLE AND DIE" LASER! It is only after you knock off the helmet of the clone is he weakened, and can't do the laser anymore. If you knock off the real Shredder's helmet he to loses that power, plus his cloning ability! Once you kill him the Technodrome explodes. The End. ____________________________________________________________________________ 6.THE CODES TMNT 2 - The Arcade Game 10 extra turtles: On the title screen, on control 1, press Up, Right, Right, Down, Down, Down, Left, Left, Left, Left, B, A and Start. Did Krang and Shredder escape? Only time will tell. Note: Since there is a 3rd TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES game we must assume that they did. Also Shredder seems to happy when he appears on the billboard at the very end.
