From the archives of VIS Interactive comes a set of pre-development artwork sketches, kindly donated to me by "Kiff" a few years back with the promise of putting them on display online.
EARTHWORM JIM 3D DESIGN DOCUMENTS

Earthworm Jim 3D was in development by VIS Interactive for several years and underwent some massive graphics and game mechanic changes before it was finally released by Interplay(EU)/Rockstar(US) in 1999.
Interplay had secured the rights to make the third Earthworm Jim game, simply by buying Shiny Entertainment, but instead of having the original team make the 3D version of EWJ, VIS Interactive was hired to do the job.
Development was started sometime early 1997 and by June that year a roughly 20% complete game was shown to the press at that years E3 show. During the making reports of slow framerates and "too far from the SNES gameplay" surfaced.
