DEV SECTION UPDATED AND UPGRADED
30. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 22:25 CET
A guy by the name Brad Taylor sent me some very interesting stuff today and that gave me a big kick in the arse to get the dev section upgraded and updated. Here's his descriptions of what he sent:

NESDOCS: an archive containing all my currently complete contributions towards NES development (misc. NES technical info. and the like).

LEGWIZAR: this archive contains programs I wrote related to displaying/generating a dungeon bitmap of the NES game "Legacy of the Wizard". The dungeon bitmap is also included here, just for the hell of it.

FDSLOADR: a program/project that interfaces a PC with famicom disk system (FDS) hardware (the FDS was a system Nintendo sold in 1986 an accessory to the Famicom (japaneese NES)). Alot of people who have owned FDSs have always found them fascinating (including myself), which is why I designed this project. The project is essentially an emulator, but also requires a hardware step to make it work. All the details on how to build the project, plus the working software are included in the archive.

And it's available ( here ).

PIRATE THINGY ADDED
29. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 23:30 CET
Busy weekend, so the update of the cart dev page will have to wait a bit. Insead I've added a little review of another clone to make up for the waiting. ( read ). Oh and a huge thanks to twitchyx for "spamming the shit out of my messageboard" (his words) with his 15 posts! You're da man!

MAKE YOUR OWN UNROM BOARD
27. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 09:08 CET
GamerDFWM sent me an email a few hours ago including a guide on how to make an unrom board, and here's your chance to check it out. ( read ). I will be adding more boards to my cart dev section tomorrow, so stay tuned if you want to make... say an EON MAN cartridge ;)

26. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 23:38 CET
I've had this update lying around for a few weeks now, but added a bit more stuff tonight and decided to upload it. Be sure to download the "Nibbles" game, aaaah it brings back memories :) ( check ).

NEW PROTOS ADDED
24. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 23:45 CET
Thanks to Niels of the nespit.com, I've added two new protos to my, guessed it?... yes.. proto section. The games are Fester's Quest and Ultimate Air Combat. In case some wonder why my own carts aren't on the page, be patient, it'll happen soon :-) ( check ).

PANIC RESTAURANT REVIEW
22. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 20:25 CET
Whoa! This doesn't happen as often as I would like, but I managed to brew together a small review of Panic Restaurant, a game I've wanted to play and own for years, and I now finally do. ( read ).

WHAT GAME WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ON THE NES?
22. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 16:50 CET
I've created yet another section for the site called NES Game Thoughts. Have you ever had an idea for a game? or wanted some game from another platform released for the NES? Why not write up a small story about it and why you'd like to see it on the NES, maybe even make a few mockup pictures. In the meantime you can see my contribution. ( read ).

SMB2 GAME HACK
22. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 00:55 CET
NES WORLD is not about emulation, as you may have heard. But I feel I have to mention this game hack recently released, called "Legend of the Blob Bros. 2" which is a hack of Super Mario Bros 2. It's been under development for about 4 years and has turned out very well, impressed me quite a bit. ( more ).

WE'RE BACK - MESSAGEBOARD PROBLEMS
20. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 20:50 CET
Actually NES WORLD was never really gone, our downtime was limited to about a day, where parodius "came back" tonight, after being gone almost 3 days. The downtime was caused by the server being moved to a co-location. Anyway I've had to make some modifications to the forum settings file, so you have to re-enter your password, but this should solve future probems. It seems that nesworld.parodius.com is gone, don't know if it's for good, I haven't heard anything from Jeremy who runs parodius yet.

NES WORLD and the entire PARODIUS NETWORK is banner free and run buy a guy with a great heart. But it cost money to run a server like this one, money comming out of Jeremy's own pocket, $350 a month. If you like what you see and wouldn't mind help to keep the server, and hosted sites, alive.. then why not donate a few dollars. All of the money donated will be used to pay bills, like the monthly $350 charge, nothing else. Keep in mind though that it's totally up to you to donate a few dollars or not, we won't ask you to...

HOT SEAT HARRY
10. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 23:59 CET
As promised, we got a new homebrewn game... you have to try this one! hehe ( read ).

WORK IN PROGRESS
10. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 00:45 CET
Just a small sneak peak of something I'm working on ( read ).

NEW HOMEBREWN GAMES
8. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 20:00 CET
Memblers of nesdev.parodius.com fame has made a new "company" (grin) releasing NES games. The company is called Strangulation Games and currently has 6 games in their lineup; Hot Seat Harry, Urban Acid Zombies, Roadkill, Retard Adventure, Munchie Attack and last but not least Blusterer. If these games would've been published back in the NES days, they would most likely be published by someone like Active Enterprises, not that it's bad. ( read ).

HARDWARE SECTION
8. SEPTEMBER 2002 - 16:30 CET
I've been moving some stuff around on the site, which hopefully should make it easier to find. So a hardware section has been added to the "written material" section which will host everything non-dev material. Oh yeah and I've added a small page about the M82 store display to that section. ( read ).
