I'M EASILY ENTERTAINED
|
28 FEBRUARY 2006 - 21:45 CET
|
Okay, today I bought a Sony PSP, and to be honest, I was bored with it quicker than you can say PSP, heck I even bought GTA for it. So anyway,
I decided to have a little fun with the built-in browser and hmmm, maybe I need to make a PSP friendly version of NESWORLD? :-)

A FRIEND OF OURS TURNS 20...
|
27 FEBRUARY 2006 - 23:10 CET
|
First of all I'd like to apologize for the lack of updates lately, but I've been very busy doing absolutely nothing. So anyway, February 1986, The Nintendo
Entertainment System was launched country-wide in the states, and to celebrate that, GameSpot has created a nice documentary where some of their staff talks
about their NES memories.
The documentary is 45 minutes, and is available here, great
stuff to watch, I know I laughed a few times as I remembered doing the exact same things.
Well worth spending 45 minutes watching, so go for it :-)

WEBSTATS4U COUNTER REMOVED
|
17 FEBRUARY 2006 - 21:50 CET
|
Webstats4u are obviously trying to make more money and has therefore added pop-up advertisement to their counter. I've been using webstats since january 1998
and have been quite satisfied with the service. But their decision to add pop-ups is just one big step in a very wrong direction, I hate unwanted advertisements,
especially pop-ups.
Therefore, starting now, the webstats4u counter has been removed from the site, so you're once again able to browse NES WORLD, free of advertisements (pop-ups).
Say no to unwanted adverts!... oh and say no to drugs like Wally did :-)

FAMICOM -TO- NES CONVERTER
|
13 FEBRUARY 2006 - 23:59 CET
|
I just got an email from Rob from www.robwebb.clara.co.uk/shop. He has the Sachen
Famicom-2-NES converter in stock. It's a very nice converter, but most PAL NES units needs to have the lockout disabled to use this.
Anyway, check out his shop if you need one, converters like this is hard to find these days...

THE ARCHIVES (N64) UPDATE
|
9 FEBRUARY 2006 - 20:10 CET
|
Nope, not NES stuff this time. In my "Archives" section of the site I'm working on a page about Nintendo64 prototypes. They might not be as interesting as
the NES protos because everyone used flash carts supplied by Nintendo, I still think they deserve to be shown to the public. Today the first 3 protos have
been added, all PAL carts, and over the next days more will follow.
You can check them out here.

RETROCON IN THE HOUSE
|
7 FEBRUARY 2006 - 23:20 CET
|
The RetroCon I wrote about back in January now sits in my desk. I therefore decided to make a little info page about it. You can check it
out here.
Friendly greetings to the people at AtariAge, defending Messiah's Generation NEX console, which I accidently called NESX. They obviously didn't feel
that it flopped as much as I did... well that's your oppinion, I have mine ;-)

CROAKY KARAOKE III

HOME ENTERTAINMENT SUPPLIERS
|
4 FEBRUARY 2006 - 15:30 CET
|
Back in the late 1990's, NES WORLD featured a small article about Australias publisher of unlicensed Nintendo games,
Home Entertainment Suppliers. The article was lost in the major clean-up in 2000, where a lot of crappy articles were
removed. But now it's back, completely rewritten and hopefully a lot more interesting. :-)
Check it out here.

CHEETAHMEN II
|
3 FEBRUARY 2006 - 21:40 CET
|
Yes people, it's time for yet another game rarity. Recently there has been a lot of talk about Cheetahmen II in the NES WORLD Forum. Therefore
I decided to write down a little page about the game. Hopefully I got all the details right, it has been quite a while since the game
was discovered and I've kinda forgotten the story.
Check it out here.
