Innerloop Studios, based in Oslo - Norway, was founded in May 1996 as Innerloop Technologies, by ex-employees from another Norwegian software developer, Funcom. Innerloop developed a game called Xtreme Sports for the Sega Dreamcast which was supposed to be a launch title in Europe for the DC, published by Eidos Interactive.

Extreme Sports 64 was to be a port of that game, however information regarding the N64 version is quite sparse. it was originally going to be published by Eidos Interactive just like the DC version, but the deal fell through, Infogrames was chosen as publisher instead and the game was delayed.

According to an IGN news snip (February 11, 1998), Innerloop was supposedly working on yet another N64 game, but it's currently unknown what it was.

No official to the cancellation seems to have been made, but the DC version wasn't released until late 2000 and as Eidos no longer was the publisher for the DC version, I doubt they were for the N64 version at this time either. This late in the N64 lifespan I would also doubt that Infogrames was interested in the N64 release.

And then... who knows if the N64 version ever even existed as no press coverage happened, other than the release was planned for Q4 in 1999.

Innerloop closed its doors in 2003.
